I Need Help Decorating My Living Room?

I have a small living room, with a fireplace, off white walls, brown/beige carpet, and deep red couches. I have a framed picture of an antique magnolia flower hanging above the fireplace. Its set in a gold frame. On the wall opposite the fireplace I have a huge mirror hanging above the couch. The frame around the mirror is a rich brown. The other wall leads out to a patio so I have a huge patio window/door that I would love to hang curtains over. The last wall has a window and is in the entry way to the living room. In the entry way the tile is brown, tan, and white. Every color of curtains I pick out does not match anything. Any idea for colors or how to tie the room togther. I just moved and would love some help.

some dark brown faux-leather panels would look great on your windows. get a couple of matching leather cushions for the sofa.
Reply:Pick out one of the colors from your photo that has the antique magnolia flower. Sit back, imagine how the room would look in that color and if you can see it, then it will work. Find another color in it and buy some curtains, throw rugs, and throw pillows.

If you don't want this then I would recommend an accent wall which would be best where the fireplace is. Put that in a Burghandy wine color and the other walls in a light beige. Have fun with it. Don't go dark color all around the room, since you say your living room is small. all walls in dark make a room look smaller.
Reply:I would go with a nice golden yellow. Not too bright or pastel though. Maybe even lean toward a beige-ish yellow. The red will go nicely with it as will your carpeting. For curtains I would go with A nice deep chocolate brown with maybe a red stripe in it to tie in your sofa. You can tie in the chocolate brown by adding brown and golden yellow throw pillows on the sofa. A nice brown area rug would also look great! I would incorporate these colors into accents as well such as vases, candles, artwork, etc. If you would like to see the colors together in a room first you can go to the Sherwin Williams website and try the paint visualizer or Lowes.com also has one too. Good luck, hope i've helped!
