How do i make a small room look big?

well i want to paint my mom%26#039;s room with maybe flowers on her wall.. but she has a super small room and she has a lot of stuff what colors should i paint to make it look good and bigger?

It is not what colors you use but how you layer them. If you put a darker color on the wall and then, say, put a bed in a lighter color against the wall, the wall will seem to recede, like a shadow. If you want to paint flowers, I would say do something very big and graphic, something monochromatic (or at least close). Use a color that will be repeated in the room. If you paint the walls magenta then use a cream bedspread and paint the furniture cream, pain the flowers in maybe a cream for the major color, and add touches of say lime or black for pop.

Reply:cool colors make a room seem bigger, while warm ones make it seem smaller. use cool colors like pale blue, sage green, greyish blue greyish green or any shade of light grey. try to stay away from hot colors:red,orange,gold.dark yellow.


avoid clutter


paint the trim in a similar color to the walls
