it is my gf%26#039;s birthday coming up and i was going to get her one of tose moose heads to hang on her wall in instead of the ordinary flowers, candy, perfume, blah blah. what do u think of that??? it is either hat or one ofthose singing fish. which would you rather have??? yeah. cool.
Ladies...what do u think????
take a look at the kind of things she likes so much, and
then give her one thing that she doesnt have from this set of things that she likes.
Reply:I think the moose head is a very unique and original gift idea. I think i might like getting something like that instead of candy or flowers. However i%26#039;m weird like that too. But it would be a nice change for a chance. and it would look great over the fire place mantel.
Reply:It%26#039;s all about the idea, but I mean...I%26#039;d rather be traditional than trying to step away from tradition, and end up with your girlfriend not being satisfied at all. Get her whatever you want to give her, but something that she%26#039;d also like.
Reply:hahahaha. wtf! she%26#039;ll HATE that.
Reply:no....I don%26#039;t think those sound like good ideas....Make something yourself to give to her or plant a rose bush %26amp; name it after her
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Reply:A picture of your head between the moose antlers would look really good.
Reply:do i look like a girl
Reply:You%26#039;ve got to be joking! Unless she%26#039;s a hunter at heart, scratch this %26quot;idea%26quot; of yours. If she is a hunter? Get her a rifle she can have handy when you buy her something really stupid for her birthday.
Reply:A Moosehead, I don%26#039;t think thats a good idea. I prefer jewelry, perfume, clothes, anything but a damn moosehead!!!!!
Reply:I%26#039;d rather have the flowers and perfume. If I were you, I%26#039;d get her some jewlry. My friend always says that jewlry is a girl%26#039;s best friend.
Reply:Forget what the broads have to say!!!!! If you are getting your girlfriend a birthday present and were thinking of a moose head, I%26#039;d say skip that entirely, and be a real man. Get her a mop and a bucket, and tell her to get to work...%26quot;no I don%26#039;t give a damn if it%26#039;s your birthday *****, you just mop that floor, then hang your moosehead, feed me a steak, and gimme a ********%26quot;.
Reply:Come on! SHe is your gf!
Reply:Try chocolates %26amp; roses. You can%26#039;t go wrong with that.
Reply:what is wrong with you!!!! Why would any girl like either of those?!?!? Get her something nice!
Reply:How about YOUR head on a plaque, with some stick on reindeer antlers. If your head could do a little song and dance number, that would be a plus.
Reply:None you should get her something really romantic. Take her out for dinner or even better cook for her. By her something that she would like or is interested in. Take her on a shopping spree it all depends on what she is interested in.............
Reply:neither she is your gf and buying herc a moose head implies that shes a moose, what about a nice neclace or bracelet it doesnt hasve to cost too much but will mean a lot more.
Reply:I WOULD NOT WANT MOOSE HEADS!
Reply:I think either would be great as a gift to %26quot;break the ice%26quot;--you know, to provide a little comic relief. Nevertheless, I think that you would be a bit more safe if you got her a more practical gift, as well. A bouquet of flowers, a bottle of perfume, a gift card, or something that you know she would definitely enjoy would be ideal.
Reply:I would rather have neither, if you%26#039;re totally unsure about what to buy her, then get her a shopping voucher to one of her favourite stores
Reply:If she is in to wildlife, instead of a head or talking fish, get her a beautiful elk/deer horm chandeleir: I bought one recently, it is wonderful!!! They also make nice lamps and light covers, tables, you name it, real nice quality stuff, better than a head- Here is where I got mine:
http://www.hornsunlimited.com/chand-1.ht...
Good luck!
Reply:why not a bear rug
Reply:OMG, get her some perfume u idiot.
Reply:Take her to a spa to get a massage, or do it yourself if you%26#039;re feeling romantic. Perfume is a great gift. Also try going to Sephoras and have one of the girls that works there help you pick out a gift- any girl would ADORE something from Sephoras!
Reply:If she likes a joke, get the fish. Its cuter than a moose and takes up less space. But I suggest giving her flowers after the fish, just to have your bases covered!
Reply:I wouldn%26#039;t want to get a moose head, and I wouldn%26#039;t want a singing fish either. How about a heartfelt love letter instead? :) If you want to make her laugh, give her a card with one of your funny photos together, and then write a meaningful message about how much fun she is and how she makes you happy.
Reply:Um, why??!!!
I wouldn%26#039;t want a moose head or a singing fish!! They won%26#039;t make me feel loved or special! Try and be romantic instead..
how about dinner, flowers, a romantic weekend away, a pamper day...
Reply:please don%26#039;t Justin... you%26#039;ll be single in no time.
Take her somewhere nice. Buy her something she can use or is just plain thoughtful. Moose heads are not thoughtful. that%26#039;s a gift for your father in law
Reply:Moose heads? Puhleeezzzz! A perfume is the best choice.
Reply:Sex with kondom.... Or her favourite chocolates...
Clothes,... Like underwear...
Reply:ugh. if ur gf is into that kinda stuff then go ahead. but gah. i would be pissed if sum1...esspecially someone im in a relationship with...got me sumthin like that. id much prefer chocolate...or sumthin that you wouldnt get your dad...or your guy friends.

Song from new Rimmel London Advert??
Ive forgotten the lyrics but the new Rimmel London advert sees Kate Moss in a colourless room with flowers drawn on the walls and when she puts on the lip stick/gloss the flowers come to life and full of colour and become 3-D.

Help :( Tips for red bathroom?
So, I imagined something and it didn%26#039;t come out anything like I intended it to.
I painted my restroom red.
I was thinking of having deep red walls with tall white panelling around my restroom and stencil black/white flowers drawn onto the walls.
Color Theme: Red, White, Black
Any tips to fix my dull ugly red walls now?
Anybody do something similar....successfully?
Help :( Tips for red bathroom?
thats the wrong kind of red to paint entire walls with. that looks like a scarlet red...way to loud for a wall color. go with a muted, earthy red that has a touch of brown/orange in it:
-terra cotta red
-paprika red
-russet red
-brick red
the foyer in my house was painted this color: Ralph Lauren %26quot;Village%26quot;. it was bold, but muted at the same time.
if you combine it with white, then you need to use a toned down white also. a heavy cream or parchment color.
Go to the Sherwin Williams web site. paint a virtual room by clicking on: %26quot;paint an interior%26quot; choose the bathroom category.
paint the bathroom using these reds: %26quot;spicy hue%26quot;, %26quot;red cent%26quot;, %26quot;fired brick%26quot;, %26#039;fireweed%26quot;, %26quot;flowerpot%26quot;. see which one you like best. for the trim and ceiling use this color; %26quot;restoration ivory%26quot;.
see what you think of that kind of red and white combination.
Reply:keep painting until it is %26quot;even%26quot; right now it looks patchy. once you have even coats.... get stencils and use them to paint black... get new rugs. rest is up to you crazy.... it has potential so keep it up!
http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/dc_design_color...
it says to be weary about putting make up in there, other then that it should look pretty good!
Reply:Red is a tough color to do.
I learned the hard way, too.
You actually need to start with GRAY primer for the red to coat properly.
Then, two or more coats of a good deep red.
That red looks bright, but it might not be the wrong color choice - it may just look funky because you went straight over the white.
Reply:I think it%26#039;s too much. Don%26#039;t get me wrong, I love red. I have a red room in my house and use red as the accent color in my kitchen. Maybe if you used a faux finish with the red it would soften the look a little. It is just a small space for such a bold bright color, in my opinion.
Reply:Finish painting. Let it dry completely and see what you think. Since it%26#039;s white behind the red, you will likely have to do 2-4 coats to get the shade you wanted. If you wanted white stripes, you already messed up. IM me or email if you need more help...or after the paint dries!
Reply:Since it%26#039;s paint, you can repaint. Try another shade of red. That may be all that%26#039;s needed.
Reply:Did you know, when you started, that red can take multiple coats to get proper coverage? I kinda knew that, but was completely unprepared for how MANY coats it took to get my red walls done ... tinted primer plus 5 coats of red ... and to be honest, it could use a 6th. By the time I was finished with all that painting, I was sick of the color and wished I%26#039;d never started!
My kitchen is done in red, white, and black ... and I love it. But it%26#039;s a big room, and with white cabinets, the red is not so overwhelming. I think you just chose the wrong red for a small space, but you weren%26#039;t too far off.
My advice would be to finish the coat that you were working on, to get a surface that has a fairly even tone. If you want to stick with red (but a different red), pick one that is a little less bright. It will still be bold and dramatic, but not so crayon-bright. The paint you%26#039;ve already used will work as your primer-coat, though, so your topcoat (or more than one) will go on more smoothly and evenly.
If you want to ditch the red altogether and use a different color, red is as hard to get rid of as it is to achieve, so be sure to use a high-hiding primer. I%26#039;d explain to the good folks working the paint-counter at whatever store you plan to buy the paint that you need to cover over a very uneven red base, and ask what they%26#039;d recommend to use in that situation.
Good Luck!

Which color curtains should I get to go with beige walls a peach sofa with pale green flowers on it?
Since the sofa is large and going to be the dominant visual piece in the room, you don%26#039;t want your window covering to compete for visual effect. You can purchase lengths of sheer fabrics at the outlet stores and layer the green from your sofa with the beige from the walls (which is a popular look these days) at about the same or less cost than ready made curtains. The best part is that they are no sew! A few beige and green toss pillows and maybe a green chenille throw and it should be a great start for your room. I%26#039;d emphasize the beige and green in accessories and find maybe one large piece of wall art to play up the peach in the sofa color. Since this may be a difficult one to fine, I%26#039;d check at flea markets and thrift shops. They usually have beautiful pictures, and the frames can easily be painted in one of the many finishes available to blend with your decor. Try to find something simple so as not to compete with the woven design in your sofa. Have fun!
Which color curtains should I get to go with beige walls a peach sofa with pale green flowers on it?
Color is so in right now. I would definitely accent a color in your sofa only going a shade or two darker. This will add color to your walls and also accent the colors of your sofa.
Peach would be a softer look than the green. But I think I would personally tend to go with the green and beige just because these colors blend so well together and create a magnificent look.
If you can%26#039;t find the color you%26#039;re looking for at the stores,don%26#039;t forget to check out the fabric departments or a fabric store. Many times it is cheaper to purchase fabric and make your own swags or curtains with no sewing involved. It mainly depends on what type of curtains you are looking for,and the windows you are covering.
Have fun and enjoy your new look.
Reply:Pastail green (very light)
Reply:beige with orange, or only beige
Reply:I like to accent the least seen color. Or, in your case, I would put up solid color, beige curtains.
Reply:i think you should go with either beige or with a pale green or even a little darker green....i do not know if you could find peach curtains.. so i think beige or a green...good luck with decorating...

I need to paint my living room?!?!!?
We Just moved into our house a few months ago and i want to paint my walls. Right now there is three sides, one side is wood which i like but the other two is wall paper. the wallpaper is pink flowers... thats what i hate! The other side of the room is open too the dinning room but has a fireplace breaking it up a little. so nothing needs to be done over there. Now we have a forest green couch set and the capret is a little bit lighter but very close to the couch color. I dont want white or beige walls i want it warmer look in the room but i know green will more then likly make it too green. i Dont know what eles to put up on the walls. there is more colors in our couch, there is a light brown which acts well with the wood sided wall and green and red. several shades of red and green in the pillows but the couch itself is all green. If anyone has n e ideas please give your input! thanks!
I need to paint my living room?!?!!?
with the colors you describe, I would go with a yellow. There are many shades. I would go with a light creamy yellow. It would look great with the greens. Yellow and browns go together and believe it or not, red and yellow look fantastic together. Peel that paper off before you paint those walls. Good Luck

Reply:Sounds like my family room. I painted three walls a sunflower color and the fourth a candy apple red. I swear when you are painting you are going to feel like your in a high school cafeteria but when it%26#039;s all done, it looks like an Ethan Allen ad.
Reply:I%26#039;m with the first guy (or gal), I think a nice mocha would work well. My advice is to get as many samples of colors as you can from a place like home depot or lowes (even places like wal-mart have the color sample cards) and hold them up against the walls you want to paint until you feel inspired. You may find that the most expensive brand of paint has the color you like the most - happens to me all the time - but usually the store can match any color (or close to) in a less expensive brand.
Reply:Try a soft mocha maybe.
Reply:A soft parchement color like a creamy yellow/gold color would really set off the autumn colors of your funishings. Im not a Yellow or a Gold person, but I do love this color. I have lots of autumn color in my home and I used this in my hallway The color I used was called Calm Air # 300E-2 made by Behr paint. it is a warm color. It looks good with the brown wood furnishing and green that I have in my hallway. Although it was a little darker than I wanted and I had Lowes color match it and make it a little bit lighter. Good Luck finding the right color.
Reply:I like the idea of a mocha or cappuccino color, just remember to use a primer and to tint it if you are going for a dark shade. Sometimes white bleeds through. It took my SIL 4-5 coats of red paint to get their wall from looking two toned.

I'm a 13-year old girl desperate for a bedroom makeover!?
...but not as in painting and remodeling - just mostly reorganzing and redecorating, and i need some help with ideas!
i want the feel of my room to be kind of calm/serene. my bedsheets are blue and brown but not dark brown), so i guess im going for that color palette (however, flowers/accents can be blue/green).
i%26#039;ve already got some ideas, like, putting in a few vases of flowers and hanging some cute wall art. i also kind of want that contemporary-ish feel (kind of like the rooms on design on a dime).
for instance, i have this big windowsill that has many stuffed animals on it, and i%26#039;m movng them out. what could i put on the windowsill? and also i have a bookshelf that i%26#039;m clearing all the junk off the top of it.
i was thinking i could get different sized glass jars and fill them with seashells, but i don%26#039;t where i could put them.
it%26#039;s like i have so many ideas but i don%26#039;t know how to use them! but i%26#039;m not going to paint or buy furniture. please help; thanks so much!

Whats better Jungle cat or Garden for Kitty?
If you were going to leave your kitty at a boarding facility, what %26quot;setting%26quot; would you think was cuter or funer for the cat? ** Jungle Room** a room with green walls, fake plants , cat nip and toys with leopard print cat furniture and what not or **Garden kitty** fake hanging plants, flowers and butterflies on the wall and light colored items in the room ? Both rooms would have the identical toys, furniture ect..
Whats better Jungle cat or Garden for Kitty?
Jungle - there is more visually stimulating stuff you can use, IMO.
Reply:Neither of these would appeal to me or my cat who is very timid. I would look for a cattery that had a caring owner who would cuddle and cosset my cat as much as possible and have a warm environment for her so that she did not miss her home comforts.
Reply:garden kitty!
Reply:I would pick jungle.

Pruning Winter Jasmine?
My landlord has given me a couple of flower beds to cultiviate. There%26#039;s no garden as such, just concretre with the exeption of the flower beds flankng the external walls of my ground floor flat.
The beds have been consumed by a mass of ancient winter jasmine, can anyone tell me when I should prune, and how far I can cut it back without killing it? I really want to be brutal!
Pruning Winter Jasmine?
Jasminum nudiflorum is this your winter jasmine?? Flowers on old wood so prune immediately after blooms fade. to thin it out do basically that, thin it out , it needs to be encouraged to twine around something, be brutal but remember it wont flower for a while if you do and dont chop near the base or you,ll kill it as with all heavy pruning give your plant a feed and a drink...I%26#039;d leave some old wood(the woodyiest of stems)for some of the fragrance and blooms..if you do it , do it in spring
Reply:Jasminum (jasmine); should be pruned immediately after flowering, cut the jasmine hard in against the wall. It will not die from a hard pruning. Buy some summer flowering and let them mingle through each other. J. officinale will grow and spread to 5m or more, it has white flowers that are sweetly fragrant; J. parkeri which is again summer flowering with yellow flowers. Jasmine can be a very beautifully shrub/ climber when maintained properly.

To save a breath, Avoid the death,
Of monotony.

I like your rhyming and lyrical flow, but i think there are too many lyrics, It should have like a monstrous instrumental interlude in it where you just jam on, and on and on, tehn get back for teh last 2 verses or so!

Hi,
regarding wholesale your best bet would be to check out:
http://www.usefulresources.info/wholesal...
They are not only top rated but also provide 100s of wholesale providers for every niche and category. A heaven for wholesale supplies and dropshippers as well.
Hope that helps! ;-)

What's the best Clematis to grow in zone 8-9, Easiest, with abundant long flowering period?
My clematis isn%26#039;t doing very well. I do keep the roots covered with large pieces of oak bark and/or other plants, and the vine which is climbing up the cyclone fence is in sun for approx 6-8 hrs per day. But it seems to just barely be hanging on. One variety and the unhealthist, is a %26quot;will goodwin%26quot;, the other only one I have I don%26#039;t know the variety but it makes pretty deep purple flowers, and is doing a little better than the W.G. My soil is naturally around 5PH. Should it be raised for clematis, if so with what, besides lime. Also, will the clematis climb up a brick wall? or do you know of any type of flowering plant that will climb a brick wall where it would get only 3-4 hrs of morning sun (east side of house) My thanks. as is, as was, as will be, trickyricky
What%26#039;s the best Clematis to grow in zone 8-9, Easiest, with abundant long flowering period?
My favorite Clematis is %26#039;Henryii%26#039;. It gets large white flowers, and will bloom in the spring and in the fall.
Here are a few additional cultivars that I have found to be reliable:
%26#039;Dawn%26#039; is light pink and white
%26#039;Niobe%26#039; is a reddish/burgundy color
%26#039;The President%26#039; is dark purple
I%26#039;d be happy to e-mail you a few pictures of my plants if you want to see what these cultivars look like.

Both of these seem easy, but I can't seem to figure them out?
All of this is Grade 12 Calculus (Derivatives)
1. If the sum of two positive numbers is 8, show that the square of one number added to the cube of the other is at least 44.
2. Dianna wants to enclose a rectangular flower pot that adjoins a brick retaining wall. If she only has 30 m of decorative fencing, what should the dimensions of the flower pot be so that she has a maximum area?
Both of these seem easy, but I can%26#039;t seem to figure them out?
1)
x+y = 8
x = 8 - y
x^2 + y^3 = (8-y)^2 + y^3
= y^3 + y^2 - 16y + 64
Let%26#039;s call that function f(y)
We are required to find the minimum value of f(y).
f%26#039;(y) = 3y^2 + 2y - 16 = (3y + 8)*(y - 2)
Since y %26gt; 0, this function is minimum when y = 2
f(2) = 44
so 44 is the minimum value of that above problem.
2) Without proof, the second part will have max area when it%26#039;s a square.
ie 7.5 x 7.5 sides.
Reply:If one of the sides is the retaining wall, the answer to Q:2 is wrong! Report It
Reply:1 The equation is x^3 + (8-x)^2.
This becomes: x^3 + X^2 -16x +64.
Derivative is 3x^2 + 2x - 16.
Solving the quadratic formula you get to (-2 +_ 14)/6.
Solving for positive numbers, the answer is 12/6, or 2.
That%26#039;s your local maximum. 2^3 + (8 -2)^2 = 8 + 36 = 44.
2 The largest rectangle in area for a perimeter of x will always be a square of x/4 on a side. Since you want to maximize with material for three sides available, the largest area will be to form a square of 10m per side.
Reply:Amswer to Question 1:
If (x+y)=8, x%26gt;=1, y%26gt;=1, and x and y are integers
Show (x^2+y^3)%26gt;=44
Answer: x=8-y
So
x^2+y^3=(8-y)^2+y^3
=64+y^2-16y+y^3
So when is y^2-16*y+y^3 minimum - at y=2
Why
d/dy(y^2-16*y+y^3)=0 gives 2*y-16+3*y^2=0 gives y=2, -8/3
Only y=2 is acceptable as y is postive.
d/dy(2*y-16+3*y^2)=2+6*y%26gt;0 at y=2, hence a minimum
So x^2+y^3%26gt;=64+2^2-16*2+2^3=44
Answer to Question 2:
If x is the length along the retaining wall and y is length perpendicular to it.
x+2*y=30
Maximize xy
Maximize (30-2*y)*y=30*y-2*y^2
d/dy(30*y-2*y^2)=30-4*y. Put this equal to zero gives
30-4*y=0 implies y=30/4=7.5
So y=7.5 and x=30-2*y=30-2*7.5=15
To show that it maximizes d2/dy2(30*y-2*y^2)=-4 which is less than zero. So the value of y=7.5 maximizes the area.

Reply:x+y= 8
let A = x^2 + y^3 = x^2 + ( 8 - x)^3
dA/dx= 2x - 3(8 - x )^2 =2x - 192 + 48 x -3 x^2= -3x^2 + 50x -192
2nd derivative = -6x + 50
let dA/dx = 0
3x^2 - 50x + 192 = 0
(3x - 32 )( x - 6) = 0 then x = 6 and y = 2
at x = 6 the 2nd derivative= positive number
at x = 6 , A = min. value
min. of A = x^2 + y^3= 6^2 + 2^3 = 44

Fung shui??
I want to know if my room has fung shui
When you walk in the bed is on the oppisote wall and it is turned so it is sideways like a day bed. The table is behind and off to the left of the bad and it has a lamp, candle, jewlery box, and alarm clock on it.
on the other side of the bed is another table that has 3 shelves and has other items on it.
Beside that is a tv stand with a tv on it. And then on the other wall there is a bean bag chair and a blue hand chair [its shaped like a hand] and I have a purple flower rug on my floor and my walls are robins egg blue and my carpet is grey/blue
Please help

From your description, I can really visualize the placement of yoru furniture, but I can tell you to either lose the TV or have it in a cabinet where you cannot see it. A TV in the bedroom is bad feng shui.
Reply:I don%26#039;t know a lot about feng shui, but I do know it%26#039;s a whole philosophy of design and incorporates many elements. Your best bet would be to visit a website for ideas or read a book.
I think your bed is supposed to face the door. I believe you should have living elements in your space, such as plants. Mirrors are one of the elements, but I%26#039;m not sure about the placement.
It%26#039;s too big of a philosophy to say if your room %26quot;has%26quot; feng shui. You can add colors and items to make it more balanced, but you%26#039;ll have to do the research yourself.

Railroad ties for landscaping. ( Can you plant small flowers in the cracks)?
We just purchases a home and have a retaining wall with railroad ties. I want to plant a few trees and have a nice decorated flower bed. In the front can you plant seeds so they hang down. Would love to read ideas.

Reply:Look up miniature gardens or fairy gardens on the web so you can get ideas of plants that will stay %26quot;mini%26quot;. Moss rose is a great idea. There are also the wave petunias or maybe something like a sweet potato vine.
A couple of great things to plant in the cracks might be sedums (the low grow growing/creeping varieties) and sempervivums (Hen and chicks). You wouldn%26#039;t have to replant those every year if you get some hardy to your zone.
Reply:If they have not been treated with oil then yes they will grown nicely!

I am the queen of holding frames with no glass how can I recycle them?
I have way to many beautiful frames with no glass. The sad part is I never used them before. I usually bought them to go with a print to find out that I needed a diffrent size anyway. What can I do with them if I don%26#039;t really need to use them as regular picture frames? The best thing I found was to lean them against the wall with a frame and flowers in them. Any other ideas?
I am the queen of holding frames with no glass how can I recycle them?
if you are a real do it yourselfer you could maybe use them as a focal point in a room as a type of moulding. painting the wall where the picture frame will go, any color you like to compliment the room and nail a few of them to the wall in an attractive arrangement. Or if you get real fancy you could use it as one of those things some people have above their beds with the drapes hanging down that surrounds your bed. just staple the fabric to the frame, and nail to the ceiling, or use some of those plant hangers to hang it from the ceiling. But i guess these might only be good if you have your own home. You could use them as decoration for one of those things that kind of make a partition that can fold up, usually seen in those older movies for women to dress behind in their bed rooms.

Does anyone have any easy decorating tips?
I am planning on redecorating my bedroom before my baby comes. What are some easy tips as far as pics on wall and colors for Spring? Flowers or candles? Would like to create a somewhat cozy atmosphere on a budget. I only have limited space. Thanks much.
Does anyone have any easy decorating tips?
Paint your walls a soft green or yellow, Not pastel but almost. Change you linnens to a light color such as Ivory or white, maybe a floral pattern (ikea is pretty cheap for these). Hang matted black and white photos of flowers and nature. You can get frames from yard sales and paint them all the same color (black). You can get matting from a craft store and the pictures you can take yourself. Paint your existing furniture white or ivory.
Reply:Buy some photos of Winnie the pooh or cartoon characters and frame them and put them up(these go well anywhere), also, make mobiles out of cardboard and hang them on the ceiling above the cot.
As for colors, use soft pastly ones such as cream, lilac, baby blue, mint green etc.
Good luck (=
Reply:Don%26#039;t use yellow!! there was a study done and babies cried more when in yellow rooms.

R&S Mommies! Spiritually speaking, what was the best gift you got today?
My oldest son filled an empty baby food jar with table salt, added some food coloring and labeled it %26quot;BATH SALTS%26quot;. My youngest stole a flower off my niece%26#039;s bedroom wall to give me as a gift. I also got a homemade card from them. All in all, I%26#039;d say I made out like a bandit.
Happy Mother%26#039;s Day!!
R%26amp;S Mommies! Spiritually speaking, what was the best gift you got today?
My children all made me cards and they each made this hand print poem at school that meant the world to me. I will always be able to remember how little their hands were! They also each grew me a plant at school. One was oregano which will be awesome to cook with once it grows more! :)

I was never able to carry to term, but my husband always gives me flowers on Mothers Day. He%26#039;s really sweet that way.
I also had the joy of helping my youngest niece (8 yrs old) record a song she wrote for her mom. She figured out the piano part and the words and melody. She told me the note names for each part, and I used my music notation software to print it out for her. I had to figure out the rhythm, but she did the rest herself, which amazes me - and her mom!
I%26#039;m thankful for all of you moms who do the daily work of raising the next generation. God bless you in your labor of love.

Plz read an excerpt from my short story?
Scythe took in a breath of what he called fresh air. It was the scent of fresh blood and it made his bloodthirsty mouth water. He finally felt alive after five years of rituals that had been preformed for this very day. The day his God once again became powerful and ruled the world! Scythe hadn%26#039;t felt the warmth of a drop of blood in years, so today he felt totally controlled by his bloodlust. He just had to quench his thirst. His instincts told him to climb the city%26#039;s walls to get to his calling. He took a bit of a running start and rammed his spear into a crack in the wall. He pulled himself up and then balanced on the spear. He jumped up and caught grip of the top of the wall. He sprung up, landing like a cat on the wall. He took a leap from the wall to the roof of a Candy Flower shop, landing softly. He spotted a woman below who was worriedly rushing her children indoors. They obviously knew about the attack. Scythe jumped down silently behind the woman and silently sliced her neck. He could not resist his vampire instincts and began to drink the flowing blood. The blood dripped down his chin as he greedily drank all the blood out of the woman. After finally quenching his thirst, he went back to what he was in this city to do. He jumped back onto the rooftops and made his way over the buildings to the castle. He sat, perched on the roof of the nearest building to the castle gates. He could hear the guards talking among themselves.
%26quot;Darn the King! %26#039;E knew of the attack the %26#039;ole time!%26quot; complained one of the guards, %26quot;Now we must get slaugh%26#039;ered in war by some %26#039;ellish beasts tha%26#039; I never knew existed!%26quot; The guards all began to make their way to the city front gates, trembling at the name of death.
Scythe jumped over the fence that was blocking off entrance into the castle. He swiftly climbed up a tree and flew from tree to tree until he was a leap away from the the main tower%26#039;s top windowsill. This was the window to the king%26#039;s room. He jumped heroically through the window and landed without sound.
King Charles was watching the nearing army of demons, dragons, Satin%26#039;s Goblins, and Hell Warriors.
These ugly, foul smelling creatures were being led by the Dark Warlock and his hand-picked army of twenty Fiery Paladins.
These furious creatures rode on Three Horned Rhinophants. They carried long, Hell Snake Whips. The heavy whips let out trails of flames behind them as the paladin%26#039;s began to crush and poison the poor Centroville guards.
Scythe slowly began to creep up on Charles. He closed in slowly and quietly like a tiger in the woods. His dragon tooth dagger, that had been dipped in venomous demon blood, was clenched tightly in his hand. His Deadly Hood covered the nasty scar that brought hideousness to his face. As he got closer to his goal his heart began run a marathon. %26quot;Finally my god will be released and I will be entitled to the position of King of the Upper World!%26quot; he thought. Scythe was within a good distance now and decided to do it. He raised his dagger and jumped up planning to leap over Charles and out of the window, while at the same time stabbing him in the head from behind. He had pulled this off many times against some of the thousand light priests, and it had a certain success rate.
Suddenly the king turned around, withdrawing his long sword from it%26#039;s scabbard. TWWANNNG! He sword smashed against Scythe%26#039;s chest plate, throwing Scythe off balance.
Scythe landed on his back; his dagger sliding across the marble floor. He attempted to get up and dive for it, but the king kicked him back down.
The king pointed his sword down at Scythe%26#039;s now uncovered face. He caught a glimpse of Scythe%26#039;s strange scar and squinted at at curiously. %26quot;H...Henry?%26quot; he stuttered.

Fantastic! Really loved it. So action-packed and fast paced. But one criticism - you did mean Satan (the king of demons) and not Satin (the shiny cloth that lingerie is made out of)?
I really liked your story and I%26#039;ve got no doubt the final fully-polished draft will be brilliant.

Plz read an excerpt from my short story?
Fantastic! Really loved it. So action-packed and fast paced. But one criticism - you did mean Satan (the king of demons) and not Satin (the shiny cloth that lingerie is made out of)?
I really liked your story and I%26#039;ve got no doubt the final fully-polished draft will be brilliant.
Reply:It%26#039;s hard to tell without knowing what the story is about. But I think it was pretty good. Unique

Im painting my bedroom purple..?
im using purple paint, and you can still see the stencils over the paint. my wall was white before, with flowered stencils that were red, green, blue, and yellow. now im painting it dark purple, and you can still see the silhouette of the freakin flowers. i know nothing about painting, so i dont know what i should have done before starting. any help or suggestions? thanks.
Im painting my bedroom purple..?
The stencils on your wall have added an extra layer of paint which is raised compared to the rest of the surface. It is quite salvagable though. Sand the areas lightly, till when you run. your hand over, there will be no noticable bumps. Even though you have already painted a coat, you should treat it as a new wall and prime it first. Ask your paint dealer to tint the primer with the same tint as your paint ( it will be lighter, but that%26#039;s ok.)
Choose a velvet, satin or an eggshell finish. Higher sheen paint ( ie: semi gloss ) will magnify any imperfections on your wall as the light will catch the flaws making them more visable.
With the tinted primer, you should only need 2 coats of your paint.
Good luck with your project..
Reply:just paint over them again okay it happened to me and i was so dumb omg but just keep going over them! good luck hon
Reply:A primer would have been to best bet, all is not lost. Just apply another coat of paint.
Reply:Maybe should have used a tinted primer before you used your main color but not to worry.
Your wall will need another coat of paint especially where the stencil was.
Simple: just add another coat or two where it is needed and the stenciled flowers will disappear !!!
Reply:Just recoat at this point until its gone. make sure its dry between coats.
Don%26#039;t just go over the stencils, you%26#039;ll see that. Do the whole walls.
Reply:i think you should have slightly sanded the previous painted wall... painted primer and them paint it whatever color you want painted
Reply:You should have painted with a %26quot;primer%26quot; first.
Reply:now that the damage is done hire a professional to come in and sand and primer and save yourself money by doing the painting afterward and chalk it up as a lesson learned, but before I wouldve started I probably would have done a little research online or read the home depot do it yourself book, you should give them a call explain the situation and see what they recommend now, good luck!

How do i clean?
i have silk flower arrangements hanging on walls, they are very dusty, is there a way to wash them without ruining them??
How do i clean?
Carefully running them under water and blotting dry/wiping excess dust off with a cloth (no paper towels or there%26#039;ll be lint) works for me.
Good luck! (:
Reply:i would do a test on some of the flowers !
but if there is glue it%26#039;s out!
put the flowers themself in a laundry bag and hand wash them! \
place them in the dryer bag in all and dry!
but honestly the rice girl pinned it!
Reply:Brown paper bag with a bit of salt and shake it around . Should come off.
Reply:Use a hair dryer on them to blow the dust away.
Reply:Yes, indeed. You can vacuum them carefully, or shake them well in a bag; and then lightly rinse them in some mild dishwashing liquid and cool water. Hang them upside down to dry.
Try rice. Take a paper bag and place a cup or two of white rice (uncooked of course). Place the plant inside and shake. Give it a few good shakes and the rice will dust the plant off. This works great with wreaths and dried flower arrangements too.
You can also blow them with your hair blowdryer outside. Make sure you use the cool option.
Reply:There is a silk flower cleaner spray available at most craft stores that does a decent job as long as the dust hasn%26#039;t built up too heavy. Shake them out first and then spray.
Reply:Throw them out. Bad feng shui.

I need some ideas for landscaping my front yard which is a steep slope.?
I live in Nova Scotia and the soil is basically clay. My property is 1.5 acres with the house sitting on top of a hill 265 feet from the road. The driveway starts on the left and cuts across the slope to the right and ends in a 3 car turnabout beside the house. The yard is divided into an upper left portion, the driveway, then the lower right portion. On the upper left portion of the yard I installed landscape fabric and 4 inch rock to solve the erosion problem. The landscape is essentially a clean slate, no grass, gets full sun. The only thing I did was plant rugosa roses in the berm on the lower right portion of the yard that runs from the turnabout to the road. I will email pics to give you a better idea of what it looks like. I%26#039;d like some ideas for plants, where to put sod, flower beds, trees, retaining walls, etc. I did hire a landscape architect but got burnt and lost a lot of money.

Ornamental grasses are attractive, large and low maintenance plants that like full sun. Large rocks look nice and are maintenance free. I would skip the sod, to much work to mow.
Reply:install a retaining wall with planters inside ....those look nice

New Bedroom colour?
I%26#039;m 14 and I just moved into a new house, and I%26#039;m deciding which coulour to paint my room. The ceiling is flat, so I could paint it, but I think i%26#039;d prefer it white. The last person painted the room with bright green, purple, and blue with wierd flower things on the walls. I want something way different.. I don%26#039;t like orange, and I%26#039;m not too fond of purple either.. I was thinking about doing something blue (like a nice turquiose or aqua) or pink ( but not a barbie kind of pink ). I%26#039;m not sure. I like red, but people say it%26#039;s not a good colour for bedrooms, and none of my other stuff is red. I like the idea of yellow too, but I don%26#039;t want it to look like a nursery or anything. I%26#039;m going to get a new bed and sheets too, and I want them to match, but I haven%26#039;t found any I like yet. My bedroom is good sized, with three windows with white shutters. the carpet is a slightly off-white kinda sand colour.

I would look for a bedding set first as an %26quot;inspiration%26quot; for you to pick your color or colors. Check out sites like:
PB Teen
Target
JC Penney
Wake up Frankie
Reply:If you like yellow, you should go with that. But get a bright bold yellow, not a pastel, and it won%26#039;t look babyish. It will look sunny and bright. Avoid mustard colored yellow or primary yellow. Maybe a lemon.
Make sure the other woodwork and trim are white like your shutters and it will look great.
Have fun!

Help!!! Ideas for making a brown living room look good?
My aunt owned a second house and she%26#039;s letting me stay here since I%26#039;m a college student the house came fully furnished so I%26#039;m kind of trying to work with some of the stuff that I have. I%26#039;ve posted the picture of my living room in the links below. I just really need some inexpensive ideas to make my living room look better and more homey. I know a want flowers, pictures on the wall and a new lamp (because I swear the one I have is from the 70%26#039;s) but I don%26#039;t know what to kind get. Thanks in advance for your help.

Help!!! Ideas for making a brown living room look good?
You%26#039;re right I did have that living room in the 70%26#039;s. Can you paint? It%26#039;s the cheapest way to make the biggest impact. Your pictures show this room flows into the dining room. Keep the love seat where it%26#039;s at and move the couch to the biggest wall, opposite side and hang a big picture. It will open it up. If the wall in the dining room stops I%26#039;d make that my accent wall. Maybe paint it a nice chocolate brown, it%26#039;ll blow that wall out. Check out the candle wall art below. Ditch the blinds. You can get curtain rods cheap and it will soften it up. Here%26#039;s a link. good luck!
Reply:If she%26#039;ll let you paint, I%26#039;d suggest that. It can still be neutral - use a warm taupe that matches the colors in the couch. I%26#039;d use the navy and burgandy in the couches as accent colors. Lots of plants always warms up a space, and is a really inexpensive way to add color to a room.
Reply:Can you paint the walls? if so a fresh coat of paint does wonders. Try 2 different colors one wall one color and another color for the opposite wall and so forth. Curtains for sure will help soften up a room as will framed photos. Also throw pillows and a throw blanket on the sofa.
Reply:My living room is brown and neutral shades, so I added red to it. Just little red accents. Vases, rug, etc. Give that a shot.
Reply:What you need more than anything else is some color on the walls. Ask her if she minds if you paint. If she doesn%26#039;t then you need a big colorful art piece on the wall across from the couch.
Reply:I say RED all the way!!!!!! You will be amazed at how homie it will make it.
Reply:well you have a good start but the furniture placement is wrong try putting the love seat against the window or angled in that corner where you now have your TV.that should open up the room a little.if you do that you should be able to get a tall leafy plant to put in between the door and window-as for the lamp something tall will also be good-and for heavens sake girl get some color in there!an inexpensive idea is getting a few large canvases and painting them in solid colors maybe 4 or five would work starting in the dining area and going the full length of the room,it will give a more modern twist to the space !if you can send more pictures of the furniture in the new placement-we can continue from there
Reply:I would add some color to your living room, by taking one of the colors in the sofa and using it throughout the room. Did I see teal in the sofa? A nice throw gently draped on one end of the sofa would spice it up. You could get a lamp in the same color, so it would coordinate well. You already know you need wall decor, so find something that you like. You will be looking at this for a while, so make it something special. Would your aunt allow you to put a shelf up? If so paint it to match your throw and lamp and put accessories on it such as colored bottles, neat looking vases, whatever you like. You can make this a special place, all your own. Study hard, it will pay off. Good luck!
Reply:Firstly put some voile up at the windows, you can still keep the blinds, put the voile on the outside of the blinds, this will soften the windows and is not expensive.
Add some pretty cushions on the sofa, maybe some fluffy ones or some with texture, some soft browns and maybe chocolate, these will also go with the carpet.
The lamp could be updated with a trendy lampshade, and buy a matching shade for the ceiling light.
Buy posters and frames for the walls, as you can buy them in larger sizes you wont need so many. The other choice is to buy blank canvas%26#039;s and some sample paints and do your own art work.
If your budget will stretch to it maybe buy a nice throw or two for the sofas, maybe go for a teal colour, with will go with the other colours in the room and brighten the room up!

Name of the Music Video/Song by Travis Tritt?
In the music video there is an old man that goes all around town picking flowers then goes to a hospital or nursing home and puts all the flowers on the walls and everywhere for the old lady. Whats the name of this song? I cant remember it, and I cant find it anywhere online for the life of me!

%26#039;Cause I love you more than you%26#039;ll ever know

I%26#039;m sure you%26#039;ve heard it say hearts have windows
But mine has doors a painful past has closed
Unless someday they open wide revealing feelings locked inside

I know living with me ain%26#039;t always easy
But girl when you%26#039;re not by my side
I feel a part of me has died
%26#039;Cause I love you more than you%26#039;ll ever know
More than life more than I%26#039;ve ever loved before
It%26#039;s absurd and beyond words
I couldn%26#039;t want you more
And when I try to hold my heart out to you
I%26#039;m not sure it shows
That I love you more than you%26#039;ll ever know
I%26#039;m sure you%26#039;ve heard it say hearts have windows
But mine has doors a painful past has closed
Unless someday they open wide revealing feelings locked inside
I%26#039;ll love you more than you%26#039;ll ever know
More than life more than I%26#039;ve ever loved before
It%26#039;s absurd and beyond words
I couldn%26#039;t want you more
And when I try to hold my heart out to you
I%26#039;m not sure it shows
That I love you more than you%26#039;ll ever know
Even when I hold my heart out to you
I%26#039;m not sure it shows
That I love you more than you%26#039;ll ever know

How do you compromise on decorating a house (paint)?
My husband %26amp; I are about to buy a new home. Our current home has different colors--mocha living room, red kitchen, sage dining room. Our 2 girls have whimsical themes. One has purple %26amp; green with butterflies hanging from the ceiling %26amp; the other has yellow with flowers on the walls. My husband just came back from deployment %26amp; hates all the different colors. He said he wants the new house to be all white--no color whatsoever. I feel that color can warm a home. For the girls, it brings out their personalities. Is there any way to compromise on paint? I love the colors. In fact, he helped paint the living room %26amp; kitchen. I painted the others by myself. He even said he likes the sage I picked out! Yet, he insists he doesn%26#039;t want all these colors in the next house. How can we call it a home if we can%26#039;t even decorate it? I can%26#039;t stand white walls! Any suggestions?
How do you compromise on decorating a house (paint)?
I just recently bought a home also and the way we compromise on color is to paint the whole house a neutral color like a darker shade of white. Maybe an off white or a light beige. You can paint the base boards and trim white. Also instead having your color just using paint consider using your furniture as color...such as colorful bedding, pillows and accent pieces. Color just doesn%26#039;t have to be on the wall. I think that if you put colors other places in the home besides on the walls you both will be happy. I hope this helps.
Reply:Perhaps part of it, is his way of telling you he%26#039;s not looking forward to painting every room in a new house. If you offered to do all the work maybe he wouldn%26#039;t care what color the walls were. Or you could hire a college student (with experience) to paint for you on weekends relatively cheaply.
As far as compromising, you can do a lot without using really bold colors. Red or dark mocha walls might not be what he wants to see right now. Try some lighter, more soothing tones. Not pastels necessarily, more subdued tones. Blues greens, putties, golds and rich warm neutrals are great colors for men and women. But i would stick to a 50% value or less.
Some colors I would suggest are:
(all sherwin williams, can be found online and matched in your favorite brand)
Recyled Glass (SW 7747)
Sandbar (SW 7547)
August Moon (SW7687)
Aqua-Sphere (SW 7613)
Chop Sticks (SW 7575)
Good luck! And best wishes!
Reply:Right now he needs a very calm environment. He%26#039;s still in emotional turmoil. I%26#039;d not start splashing wild colors around for awhile. That%26#039;s not to say everything needs to be blank white. There are some very rich creams you may be able to agree upon. In the girls rooms maybe the wall with the entry door could be given a color, but not something wild. This way he can walk down the hall, look in and see whites or creams and then the girls could have the color.
In time when he returns to a more stable emotional state, you can once again add color. However strive for an overall color theme for the house, maybe two colors and a neutral third and use this throughout the house.
Reply:well compromise on the white /sage walls first since he is back from deployment !Since he likes the sage . Let it sink in for a while and after you both have looked at them enough then you can change it to color . Or even Wall paper.
You might be suprised on how you can change a room with decorating items in color to a white washed room !Maybe you can compromise on the girlsroom to be in color and have them pick the color .
Good Luck

Any ideas for Feng Shui bedroom style and where to shop???
I have dark red comforter,/2 dark red shams, 2 grey suede pillows as accents, wall divider w/ pictures of Japanse flowers and trees in background, 2 paper lanterns and a huge frame of a single red flower. I feel I%26#039;m missing something.
Any ideas for Feng Shui bedroom style and where to shop???
I would add a few plants.
Other options are a water feature or a small sand box, maybe with cactus or a succulent plant. A rug would be another option.
Reply:maybe you should check whether wood and fire element energy is favorable or unfavorable to you 1st.
It is not recommended to have live plants in the bedroom. keep it as pictures ;)

I need help picking out a paint color for my living room that would go with hunter green carpet?
The people that lived there before had the walls done with wall paper that has a green flower pattern on it and I do not like it. I would like to keep the carpet though because it is still in good shape but I do not have any clue what color would go with hunter green. I do not want the room to be to dark because it is the first thing that people see when they come into my house.
I need help picking out a paint color for my living room that would go with hunter green carpet?
Hunter green is a strong color, so you certainly want to stay away from any thing bold or dark, unless you want a library effect, which can be very attractive, but that doesn%26#039;t sound like the look you want. You didn%26#039;t say what color your existing furniture is, or what woodtones...dark, light, natural?
My guess is that you want a traditional look, and a good choice would be in beiges that have gold and yellow undertones. If you look at paint chips at the store, you will notice the variation of white/beige,yellow tints. To make it easier, bring a swatch of fabric, or a pillow from your sofa and chairs. Try to find the lightest tone in the fabric, if it%26#039;s a print. If solid, ask the clerk if he can tell you what undertones are in the swatch. Try to choose a color that doesn%26#039;t clash, but blends harmoniously with the light shade. Another way to tone down the green, place a large area rug to ground the conversation area, i.e. sofa, loveseat, chairs, coffee table. Pull the furniture away from the walls far enough that you can stand behind each piece. Place the furniture in a pleasing arrangement, so that the front legs of all the pieces set on the rug.
Think, conversation...people should be able to talk to the person across from them. Place the coffee table 18 inches from the front of the sofa. The rug can be any color pulled from your upholstered furniture, or a modern pattern, if your furniture is a solid color or a tiny pattern.
Hope that helps.

Reply:I would have to 100% agree with gr82cu. I think those colors would be the best with green carpet. Green is a very powerful color and hard to find cordinating wall colors. The tan colors are definatly the dirction you need to go.
Reply:you should defentetly chose a mixture of dark and light brown!
my friend has dark green carpet with a luxury brownish looking color and it is so preaty. i like to go cause it looks like imm at a forest or something. its relaxing. hope this helped

Reply:Beige, tans, or cream colors. Dark colored carpet makes rooms look instantly smaller, so you will want to brighten the room up with the lighter side of any of these colors to make the room look bigger and more inviting.
Reply:Green is an earthtone--think of other earthtones, colors you see when walking outside or through a forest--everything in a forest %26quot;matches%26quot;. Different shades of browns, oranges (in the fall), yellows, creams, etc.
Reply:Try a very light pink. Break up the pink with a lot of art. Or you could try some type of paint technique over the pink. But pink... pink and green are best.
Reply:A light yellow should do nice.
Reply:Choose a lighter green, perhaps a %26#039;sea green%26#039; that has lots of %26#039;white%26#039; in it ... or choose a pale yellow color. I like the hunter green carpet and the %26#039;sea green%26#039; walls, though ... but if you do use the %26#039;same%26#039; color, just lighter, then you%26#039;ll need to choose a good %26#039;contrasting%26#039; color to %26#039;brighten up%26#039; the whole room ... a nice %26#039;medium red%26#039; would work, or a %26#039;pattern%26#039; with pink and burgundy would also be good.

Name this style?
I%26#039;m about to remodel our bedroom and I saw in a magazine a perfect example of my inspiration. It has white cut lace duvet and drapes, warm pale yellow walls, and the accents are a pale slate grey-blue color. Furniture was the slate or a pale cream color and distressed. The end table looked like the top of a Corinthian style column. It had an ornate stone colored candelabra lamp with a vine motif and matching picture frame on the wall, and a stone Greek-looking flower urn. The dominant colors were pale yellow, grey-blue, and white. It had a very open airy feel to it. The caption of the photo simply said %26quot;Italian style bedroom.%26quot;
I%26#039;ve been looking online for more examples for inspiration but can%26#039;t find this elusive %26quot;italian style.%26quot; Tuscan seems to have too many rust reds and browns, and the Provence style seems to have colors that are too vibrant. I want a bright soothing, summer feel. Someone give me the name of this style and somewhere to look at pictures!
Name this style?
It could be french with the yellow and grey-blue (french blue?).
Sounds lovely - could be Tuscan with the candelabra/Corinthian column/distressed look you describe. Tucsan IMO is more about the style (elegant but inviting) and motifs (vine/corinthian) than about color. I have a friend whose lovely kitchen is Tuscan in shades of grey-taupe-honey, sort of monochromatic, but she has some more colorful accessories with olive, peach and brown.
The white eyelet duvet + curtains and the overall color scheme feels country estate/retreat - not cottage. I have a feeling the look is elegant but very inviting and delightful - like a happy sunny day.
I don%26#039;t think you need to label it anything to get that look. Just add items that look good for the style of the room, nothing modern for sure but keep some items fairly simple to highlight what you find more interesting and elaborate. A somewhat eclectic style is always the best, and you can move items/furniture from one room to the next to create a new look.
Reply:It sounds more %26quot;cottage%26quot; style than anything, Tuscany style does not always include terr cotta.
Check out http://www/bhg.com and see if you can find a matching style there.

I decorated my bedroom based on a lot of things I already had.
I%26#039;ve had a 4 poster bed for over 30 years, called a %26quot;Paul Bunyan%26quot; Huge 4 poster bed, so I finally bit the bullet and purchased a new one.
The name of the bedroom furniture is made by Aico, they do have a website and the name of the furniture is called Monte Carlo, Silver Snow.
Check that out and see if that%26#039;s close. I have marble tops on the nightstand and dresser. A leather headboard and baseboard with side rails.
Oh and you can turn the canopy upside down if you have a ceiling fan.
You will have to have very high ceilings in your bedroom, this furnitue is HUGE%26gt;:)
As far as your bedding, I%26#039;ve had the best luck with JC Penny on line Chris Madden makes a beautiful comforter/duvet and matching drapes. Or try Macy%26#039;s on line.
Oh...ps, my walls are a slate blue and khaki.
Good luck and have fun, I hope I helped, I%26#039;ll check back and see if this is what you are looking for....I call it my Greek Goddess bedroom ...j.k.

Reply:The colors and lacy accents remind me more of a %26quot;cottage%26quot; style, but the columns and candelabra kind of shoot that out the window. . . . .

I have a definition of styles on my website if you want to check that out. Email me for that.

Reply:This sounds like my bedroom!

Reply:The colors and lacy accents remind me more of a %26quot;cottage%26quot; style, but the columns and candelabra kind of shoot that out the window. . . . .
Reply:I would call it Italian Provincial

Reply:Could you cover the flowers with some artwork? (Maybe they%26#039;re too close to the window, but it%26#039;s an idea. You could use your own work, or posters or prints.)
For the bedding, you could make your own comforter cover using two flat sheets sewn on both length sides and one width side to basically make a large pillowcase to put over your comforter. Add some Velcro to both sides of the open end to keep the comforter from sliding out of the cover. Then you could choose a less %26quot;girly%26quot; color. I think black would be cool with the purple walls.
Arrange candles, collectibles, framed photos, and other personal items along the desk, dresser, and other surfaces.
A cool kite would look great, hanging from the ceiling. You could also get some fun pillows and maybe a lava lamp.
Reply:You really should paint, it would make a huge difference. I%26#039;m sure you could convince her. Offer to do it yourself. I also like the first two answers.
Reply:Maybe if you work with the flowers you could make them look nice. Or try some long curtains, would that help cover them? A simple change of bedding can do wonders in changing the room, along with a change of accessories. Try taking everything off your dresser, desk, bookshelves, etc., and putting only the things you really like back on, but put them on different shelves. Also, rearrange your furniture, if you are allowed to paint your walls, try a neutral, but pretty color like yellow, or if you are really daring, a dark red contrast wall.
I understand how you feel, I had a pony wallpaper up in my room until I left for college, and my Mom finally changed it into a guest room. I put up LOTS of posters, and cut-out pictures from magazines and framed them.
Good Luck!
