Mushrooms in my bathroom makes my moods swing , makes me maadddddd!!!!!!?

i hate the sight of mushrooms in my bath tab/shower. some algae and mushroom sprout out of my bathroom of this house that i'm renting. the bathtub/shower was in bad shape when i moved in so this stuff grows out of the open seal between the tab and the bathroom wall. i keep my bathroom really clean but it seems that there is just enough moisture and material enough to support the growth of mushrooms and brown algae. anytime i see these plants i get the jitters and i feel really mad. i need to know how to get rid of them once and for all without having to redo the entire bathroom. i will redo it in the near future but as for now i need a method to stop plants from growin in my bathroom coz i have little kids who might think its a pretty flower. i don't know if the mushrooms are poisonous or what.

Mushrooms in my bathroom makes my moods swing , makes me maadddddd!!!!!!?
Sounds like you have a real problem going on. I seriously would be concerned for the health of myself and family if I were you.

Molds and things that you are speaking of growing in a home can create a lot of health issues.

You say you are renting, the landlord needs to take care of this ASAP and if he doesn't you will need to report him.

No one should live in such conditions, this needs to be taken care of immediately.

Reply:step 1.dont use to hot steaming water while taking a shower the reason the mushroom or mold is there cuz it moist

step 2. teach your kids not to eat them there poison

step 3. get a exterminator
Reply:Yes, have the landlord fix this, or contact the health department! And yes, it's more than likely that the "mushrooms" (probably toadstools) are poisonous.

In the meantime though, you may try using some bleach on the affected areas.
Reply:Are you serious???

You might want to talk to your children about not eating mushrooms that they find in the bathroom or anywhere, and explain that unknown mushrooms might be poisonous and that they should only eat the ones that come from the grocery store or a restaurant which are cultivated commercially. If your kids are smaller than explaining age, then they should probably be supervised in the bathroom anyway.

It sounds like you are living in a basement apartment unit that was built over a swamp. I would try to get out of your lease and find somewhere else to live. In the meantime, you could at least see if the landlord can get some kind of professional treatment done to at least maintain a safe place for you to live . Good Luck!
Reply:Just buy some sealant. It isn't hard...like squirting toothpaste.

Descriptive essay paragraph 2. I'm sitting on my bed which makes me feel cozy: it's covered I'm lots of fluffy

pillows and blankets. My favorite blanket is fuzzy and has bright colors on it. My carpet is tan colored and has some sort of swirl design on it. To the left of my bed there is a hope chest that my mom bought me and i plan on passing it down to my daughter, it is wooden and has a cushin flower top on it. Next to that there is a video rack made of brass and full of videos. Then there is a stereo cabinet in the corner of that all and nedt to my bed which holds my telephone, alarm clock, lamp, and a vanilla candle which i like to burn when i have had a stressfull day. On the other side of my bed there are two dressers next to each other. the one on the left holds the dve player and the dresser on the right holds the tv. My closet is next to the dresser on the right. It has no doors on it and its full of hanging cloths.n the last wall of my room there is a door to the bathroom. Then there is a heater vent on the floor next to the door. And then a dresser where i keep my kids cloths.

I answered your other question as well. I think it would help us to help you if you provided the prompt. Are you asked to give a full description of what your room looks like? Or is this a creative writing assignment about your bedroom?

What you've provided is a list of what's in your room, which is thorough, yes, but leaves you with very little room to be creative. This is okay if you're simply supposed to give a minorly descriptive glaze-over of what you own.

The easiest way to describe things in a room is to describe them each in turn as you move through it. If you start on your bed, talk about what you're touching: the blanket, the pillow. Don't talk about the carpet yet. If you say you stand up, then it's appropriate to talk about the carpet. Maybe you stub your toe on the hope chest, then describe it. Then your eyes can scan one side of the room, and you make a short list of what you see.

It's good you're being thorough, but perhaps you want something that's also a bit more interesting to read. I'm not trying to knock you down; I'm just trying to help.

dats a list

make it more expressive naaa
Reply:what do you want me to do?
Reply:Omg that is not a descriptive essay! That's a list!

You need wayyyy more description and stop using so many full stops. Your sentences need to flow more.

Think outside the box. For instance - your video rack. Don't call it that. Say: To the left is my rack of dreams, from where I gain inspiration and a broader sense of what it means to live. My personal favourite, [insert name] has taught me how it is truly a gift to be able to read. Which takes me onto my bookcase, my chest of ... "

Etc.

And: "I look to my carpet where I often lie and gaze at my pale ceiling. I was never pleased with the tan colour, I thought it was too dull for my liking. My ceiling though. I love it. I think of it as a blank slate and I paint imaginary pictures on it when I am feeling low"

It makes for a more interesting read. Also at the moment your "essay" doesn't flow very well. Use more descriptive words.

Hope that helps =]

Law case studies: Exemption clause?

Jimmy, a business man from Penang, stays at the Golden Flower Hotel whenever he visits Kuala Lumpur on business. He likes the hotel so much that he arranges a seminar for his staff at the hotel.

While he was attending the seminar, he entered a toilet which was automatically locked. The lock was defective and there was no handle inside the toilet to open the door. For about 10 to 15 mins. Jimmy banged the door and shouted to attract the attention of persons outside but no one came to his assistance. With a view to climb out. Jimmy slipped and was injured. He suffered a dislocation of his left hand and his valuable handphone struck the floor and was damaged. He brought an action against the Hotel for negligence and the Hotel raised that there is an exemption clause stated on the wall of the toilet stating that "Customers of this hotel takes their own responsibility to ensure their own safety and the Hotel will not held to be liable".

Advise Jimmy as to the rights available.

Law case studies: Exemption clause?
He may not have any. He needs to look and see what treaties his own country and that of the country he was visiting have entered into. (I'm not familiar with the cities and don't have a map handy at the moment - older version of web brower.) If they are in the same country he may be out of luck - unless this exemption is against public policy and not generally honored by the courts. In the USA, he could still sue and might even win. BUT, he is more likely to lose his case because he assumed the risk by trying to escape.

How does this poem sound?

Breaking Down the Wall

Don't look at me with those sad eyes.

I told you my heart belonged to no one.

Like a flower withers when it dies,

I said that I was done.

When last I gave my heart away,

I was done a terrible wrong.

It seemed I was love's witless prey

and I suffered far to long.

Don't reach out to me with that kind hand.

I will not cling to any arm.

I will not trust, I am stuck in sand

away from your bitter charm.

When you draw near I turn my back.

I tell you I will not love you so.

It's not the heart you lack.

It's what will happen I know.

But your words are warm to my ears.

What is breaking my defenses?

Are you allaying all my fears and

reconciling my pretenses?

The ice is melting from my soul.

I slowly turn to you.

I feel as though I've been made whole.

Have I found a love that's true?

How does this poem sound?
Though some of the phrases may require some attention, I think that you have made a valiant attempt at writing this happy ending poem. I like it, for it is not all doom and gloom like some of the submissions I read, and which are so poorly written and submitted as poetry.

I'm on a roll, folks - found another one. For your delectation!?

A Garden is a Lovesome Thing

A Sonnet

Lingering evening sunlight paints shades

Of purple on the encumbered west wall.

Honeysuckle slumbers as light fades

And dog-tired roses yawn at night fall.

This age-old ritual of petals closing

Heralds the stirring of underfoot things;

Ants patrolling, ladybird’s vain posing,

The hum of midges’ helicopter wings.

Absent-minded snails trail silver kisses,

A drunken and dozy home-coming bee

Dive-bombs a closing flower – and misses.

A thrush laughs in his nest high in a tree.

A garden is a place of great delights,

Even after God turns off the lights.

I'm on a roll, folks - found another one. For your delectation!?
And I wonder why I even try. Grannyjill, I'm awed at your talent, brought low by your spectacular words. Even now I'm letting out the breath I held as I read your poem, even now I'm longing for a garden, a sanctuary, perhaps to be lost in, or perhaps to find another...

Thank you and blessed be.

the art of Grannyjill.

Explain why ...?

Explain why pork and fish stored in brine and fruit stored in syrup will not turn bad?

Explain why when the wall of the chilli is sliced into strips and the chilli is soaked in tap water, the chilli will form a hibiscus-like flower.

Explain why ...?
why does food turn bad? it is usually because of the reaction with bacteria and the food. the examples cited (brine and syrup) all have low water concentration and are extremely concentrated. as a result any bacteria present cannot survive as bacteria has a higher water potential then the surrounding fluid used fro preservative. because of this a concentration gradient is set and water moves out of the bacteria cell killing it.

for your second question we have to ask ourselves why we observe the change only in cut chillies? this is because upon cutting the chilli into strips the cells are exposed. when the strips are placed in water, again a concentration gradient is set up and water diffuses from the bowl where the tap water is (high water concentration) to the exposed cells in the chilli (low water concentration).

plant cells, as you should know, are unique form animal cells as they contain cell walls that exerts a force when the cell is turgid. because of this the cells that are now filled with water cannot burst and this causes the hibiscus-like shape to form.

both questions have their answers firmly rooted in diffusion (or osmosis to be more precise since we are discussing the movement of water molecules across a partially permeable membrane).
Reply:stuff gets preserved in brine and sugar syrup, making them less attractive to fungus and bacteria because the water content in the meat and fruits is drawn out.

as for the chili, osmosis occurs. but at different rates, the cells on the outside of the chili is waterproof while those on the inside are not. so they expand at different rates and curl out.
Reply:Osmosis will draw water out of bacteria killing them.

I dunno what the chilli thing is you mention.
Reply:Well, it's sterilized.

As for the pork and fish in brine, the brine is like vinegar. It's a very good preservative. Bacteria can't live in it easily. Therefore, if there's no bacteria, then the meat won't go bad. It also helps keep it moist.

As far as the syrup and the fruit, I'm not all that sure this is a preservative. I mean, if you buy a can of fruit, it's preserved by the airtight seal of the can. If that seal breaks, then the fruit will spoil, regardless of if it has syrup or not. That's why you don't buy cans with dents in them.

I've never heard of this or seen this chili thing you're asking. However, I know this can be done with other vegetables. If you cut the skin and soak it, the inside of the vegetable will absorb the water, causing it to expand. The skin doesn't absorb the water. Since the skin has holes in it, the insides will expand out of these holes, creating a flower-like shape.
Reply:I know the answer to only part of your question..the part about pork and fish being stored in brine..to explain in detail...brine is a concentrated salt solution.salt forms ions when it dissolves in water...and each of these ions attract a small number of water molecules around themselves...so the theory is that if you add enough salt to the water, the ions will eventually draw out water from inside the bacteria present in the meat, thus killing them...since no bacteria is there to spoil the meat, it remains good....I'm not sure, but perhaps the same thing happens with sugar.
Reply:Osmosis. Pork, fish, fruit (including microorganisms on them) loose water in more concentrated solutions and dried chili absorb it, because it has higher concetration of minerals and similar compounds.
Reply:Brine is salt water. When salt concentration is high, this leads to osmosis of water out of bacteria cells, as a result, the bacteria becomes dessicated and dies.

The same applies for syrup, because syrup has a high sugar concentration, therefore it also leeches water from bacteria cells.

Naturally if bacteria dies, there is nothing to act on the food and so they will not turn bad.

When the chilli strips are soaked in water, the chilli cells absorb water and becomes turgid. The outer end of the chilli has a thicker cell wall and so displays turgidity, while the inner part displays flaccidity. Basically, the thicker outer portion will expand more than the inner portion and so thei chilli 'opens'
Reply:No bacteria can formed in brine solution and hene

What color should I paint my livingroom walls/ceiling?

-The room is 11' X 15' with 3 doorway openings, and two medium-sized windows on the same wall. (I want to make the room appear larger.)

-I have 2 wingback chairs with solid Khaki slipcovers.

-The sofa is a cream color and printed with Hawaiian flowers: light greens, mauve, lilac, salmon pink, bluish gray, and a dark orange/tan that gradually turns into brown. (The majority of the couch is cream background, though.)

-The end tables and coffee table are wooden- this is the actual set:

What color should I paint my livingroom walls/ceiling?
Salmon is big right now, we are seeing it everywhere.

I would definately play off of the salmon in your print with florals and even genuine coral.

As for your walls and ceiling colors, I think that staying in a natural tone as an off white or wheat color would be nice. Whatever color you choose for your walls, go 2-3 shades lighter of that color on the ceiling. I would not do white on the ceiling. Staying in the same tones on the walls and ceilings blends the room and actually makes it look more airy, open and blended. A white ceiling will create a boxed feel. To get a feel for this, sketch a room on paper, color in the walls and then color the ceilings the same color, you can visual see how the room blends.

have fun, your room sounds beautiful!
Reply:A dark color paint will make your room look smaller and more closed in. My advice would be to choose a light color something that would fit in with the color of your sofa. Maybe the cream color you were talking about.
Reply:i think your main wall painted mint green and the other three walls painted cream would look lovely and would make it look very spacious
Reply:A LIGHT COLOR ALWAYS MAKES A ROOM LOOK LARGER. I WOULD GO WITH A SHADE OF GREEN IN YOUR SOFA.
