In Zone 8-9 what type of ivy, or flowering plant, can be grown up my home's brick wall?

On the east side of my home I get approx 4 hrs of morning sun, and the north side there is a little sun during different times of the day (no more than 1-2 hrs). On the West side there is dappled sun for approx 2hrs due to all the tress blocking the sun%26#039;s setting. On the South side there is ample sun for most of the day, some dappled here and there. I%26#039;ve a rather sandy soil surrounding the house, but it is fertile due to the yrs of organic material composting there, i.e., grass clippings, oak leaves and some pine needles, so it is a little on the acidic side. Any and all ideas would be appreciated, and if posible let me know where I could get any suggestive plants, As ever, trickyricky

South side would be perfect for passion flowers. They vine, they have beautiful fragrant flowers, a relaxing tea can be made from all parts of the plant (effects are similar to lemon balm or chamomile), and the flowers produce passion fruit...tart and sweet.


In order to aid the vining, it would benefit to run strings or a fine nylon mesh up the southern exposure wall for easier clinging of the plant%26#039;s tendrils.
